Memento mori as Repetition of Finitude: Death beyond Heidegger and Levinas

چکیده

Exemplified especially by Heidegger and Levinas, the phenomenology of death expresses first, impossibility experience, second, authenticity Dasein starting from horizon opened possibility death, third, relevance other to discovery one’s own death. This article tries take a step further, showing link between desire for immortality manifested in this authenticity. By overturning Heidegger’s theses affirming both necessity an authentication itself—in accord with Socrates’s example—and legitimacy meditation on text links need immortality, which is phenomenologically visible, Christian faith resurrection, visible only theology.
